Invasive Species Centre launches new tree check campaign

Your next walk could also mean a chance to help the trees in your neighbourhood.
The Invasive Species Centre has launched a new tree check campaign, aimed at getting people to monitor the health of their trees.
There is a Tree Check Form that provides a guide of what to look for when you are surveying trees on your property or along a social distanced walk.
Signs of invasive species include leaf discolouration, mould growth and the presence of egg masses.
The centre says Canada’s forests and urban areas are being threatened by invasive species.
It says early detection of tree diseases and insect invasions help keep Canada’s forests healthy.
