A Sundance hit and a Christmas classic top this week’s new home video releases.
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl

This Sundance Film Festival hit arrives on home video after a theatrical run that has earned $6.7-million so far this year. That performance doesn’t quite match the most successful film to come out of the festival, Dope, but they’re pretty respectable numbers for an indie. Special features on the release include:
Home Alone Ultimate Collector’s Edition

Home Alone is a classic, no doubt about it. This year the film has received a beautiful 4K restoration on Blu-ray and is being released in a special paint can loaded with memorabilia from the film including a McCallister Christmas ornament, Kevin’s battle plan for the Wet Bandits, and his tarantula. The set also includes the other four films in the series (though the first two are the only ones that count).
American Horror Story: Freak Show

A limited series by the Emmy’s standards, season three of the hit anthology TV show heads to stores in the leadup to the premiere of the next series, American Horror Story: Hotel, on October 7. Freak Show received the most nominations of any show at the Emmy Awards this year, mostly in supporting actor categories, but failed to win. The release features the following special features:
