There really is something for everyone in this week’s batch of home video releases. Check out some highlights below.

10 Cloverfield Lane

This spiritual sequel to 2008’s Cloverfield snuck up on everybody earlier this year, getting its first trailer in January before releasing in March. Trading in the giant monster plot of the first film for a more intimate type of horror the film was a hit with both audiences and critics. The blu-ray release includes over 30 minutes of behind-the-scenes material and commentary from director Dan Trachtenberg and producer J.J. Abrams.

London Has Fallen

Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman all returned for the sequel to their White House siege film Olympus Has Fallen, probably for the money more than anything else. The 22% Rotten Tomato rating didn’t hurt it at the box office though; the film took in $196M at the global box office. If you’re so inclined, the home video release comes with two featurettes called “The Making of London Has Fallen” and “Guns, Knives & Explosives”.

Eddie the Eagle

In February Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton took time off of their action movie escapades to star in this feel-good sports drama based on the story of Eddie Edwards, an unlikely ski-jumping hero at the ’88 Winter Olympics. It’s definitely a film worth streaming or renting if you’re in the mood for something light and breezy. Special features on the disc include a three-part documentary titled “Let The Games Begin: Soaring with Eddie the Eagle”.
