Hamilton loses a special part of it’s history today. Make that a special expert on it’s history. The archivist at the Hamilton Public Library’s “Local History and Archives” department is retiring. Margaret Houghton has worked in the department for nearly 38 years, and today is her last day.
She’s spent decades collecting and preserving information and artifacts about the city, and has written several books. Houghton says the best part of her job has been that everyday is different.
Margaret has also been a great help to our CHCH newsroom over the years, providing information or photos for stories on Hamilton’s past.
