The young woman killed in a crash on Highway 403 Wednesday night was a pilot and was training to be a French teacher.

“She was vibrant, witty, full of light and could make any room shine with her personality. She was my best friend.” Writes Emilia Panesar, who tells CHCH news that her older sister Elina Panesar is the 23 year old who was killed on Highway 403, between Highway 52 and Wilson street in Ancaster.

Police say Panesar was involved in a fender bender on the highway at about 9 pm Wednesday night. Then she got out and walked around her car. She was fatally struck by a transport truck. Police say no charges are expected against the driver.

Her sister says the family is reeling; they just lost their 58-year-old mother Heidi in June. Heidi Panesar was a flight attendant; her obituary says her greatest pride was helping her two daughters grow into accomplished women.
