High winds, storm rips through Hamilton causing widespread damage

A large, dangerous storm system hit the Golden Horseshoe Wednesday evening, leaving behind a trail of damage across Hamilton.

The storm sparked fires, downed power lines and caused widespread structural damage across the city.

Emergency crews rushed to support impacted neighborhoods, where residents reported crushed vehicles, stripped siding and trees brought down by the brief but intense peak of the storm.
