Many of us never have to endure life’s most difficult challenges, and for that we consider ourselves lucky.

But when a family is dealt the worst possible hand, we need to rally and offer more than just our best wishes. That’s exactly what one Ancaster family needs right now.

Anya Martinez is just six years old and she’s been fighting to live for over half her life. When she was around 2, she was diagnosed with leukemia. Her little body has been blasted with the most toxic chemicals in hopes of killing the cancer but those attempts have failed over and over again.

Anya’s dad Michael Martinez spoke to Square Off about the struggle.
