Former Conservative MP Helena Guergis is suing Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and his party, for kicking her out of the Tory caucus and conspiring to present allegations about her behaviour that included cocaine use and association with prostitutes.

In a statement of claim, Guergis named Harper, and other senior Tories, saying the allegations made were false, defamatory and have damaged her reputation, political career, health and well-being.

The Tories claimed there was a video of Guergis partying with prostitutes, and apparently snorting cocaine off a woman’s breasts.

An RCMP investigation revealed those claims were unsubstantiated, clearing Guergis of any wrongdoing.

Guergis is seeking $1.3 million.
