Doctors are blaming heart problems for the death of Hamilton MMA fighter Pablo Elochkuwu.

The 35 year old was rushed to hospital after a fight in Michigan in April. He died shortly after.

The coroner says Elochkuwu had a pre-existing condition that caused his heart to stop, and injuries from the fight didn’t kill him.

The club where he was fighting didn’t require him to have a heart test before the match. But even if he had, it may not have identified the condition.
