HBSPCA expands board for new animal welfare campus

Hamilton/Burlington Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (HBSPCA) is adding four new board members as it builds toward Canada’s first pet-first animal welfare campus.

To support this project, the HBSPCA has appointed Diane Elliot, James Goodram, Maura Richardson and Scott Sincerbox to its board of directors.

Together, these new members, many with local ties to the Hamilton and Burlington area, bring decades of critical expertise in philanthropy, real estate development, organizational growth and community education to ensure the project’s long-term success.

HBSPCA’s Love Campaign is underway, with plans for a pet-first animal welfare campus over four times the size of the current facility.

The organization plans to house Canada’s first non-profit veterinary hospital, triple the number of operating rooms, expand veterinary education and deliver a full spectrum of care for animals and families from a single, purpose-built home.

“Building something this significant demands leadership that is as bold as the vision itself,” says John Gerrard, President and CEO of the HBSPCA.
