Fresh off winning his 3rd golden horseshoe athlete of the year award, Hamilton’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to prove that he’s one of the best ballers on the planet.
On Sunday night, Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s road win over the Dallas Mavericks 100-87.
In doing so, the NBA’s reigning MVP recorded his 59th straight road game with at least 20 points, breaking American Wilt “Wilt the Stilt” Chamberlain’s record from 1961 to 1963.
It was also the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar’s 123rd consecutive game — home and away — with over 20 points.
That leaves him four away from breaking Chamberlain’s 63-year-old record, which stands at 126 games.
Earlier last month, Gilgeous-Alexander invested in Oak View Group’s TD Coliseum in downtown Hamilton.
His partnership with the venue also includes naming its atrium after his son Ares, and plans to give back through his charitable organization, The SGA Foundation.
