The Medical Officer of Health for the city of Hamilton has issued a cold weather alert effective overnight.
An alert is issued when current or anticipated weather conditions are at or below a temperature of -15 C or wind chill of -20 C.
This cold weather notice will remain in effect until a cancellation alert is issued.
When a cold alert is issued, the city focuses on promoting access to safe and warm shelter to those on the street and for individuals living in vulnerable conditions with limited heat.

Residents who are concerned about a persons well-being, and are in imminent danger are asked to contact police
