City officials have been citing a figure of 1,600 unhoused people in the city since early 2024.
The February 2024 cyberattack on the city’s IT networks hindered their ability to accurately update the figure.
The amount of homeless people in the city could be much higher as some people choose to not share their information, which excludes them from the figure.
