Hamilton Swiftie wins Eras Tour tickets through Ronald McDonald House contest

A lucky Taylor Swift fan, Sarah Jones, won box seats for the Eras Tour in Toronto through a contest hosted by Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton.
Colleen Jones, Sarah’s mom, remembers the first few weeks of Sarah’s life spent at Ronald McDonald House.
“Back in 2013, after my youngest daughter was born at 28 weeks, she was in the NICU, and I spent a few days in the ICU after her birth and wasn’t able to drive back and forth between home and McMaster where she was,” Colleen says.
Ronald McDonald House Charities assists sick or injured children and their families while the child receives treatment in the hospital, providing a home away from home to alleviate the stress of being hospitalized.
This year, they held a contest for all alumni families.
Ella Andrisevich from Ronald McDonald House Charities says, “We had nearly 200 entries for this concert to see Taylor Swift, and we drew a name out of a hat, and we have a winner.”
Colleen Jones is thrilled with this gift, having entered over 20 contests to try to get tickets over the past few months.
Account manager for the PR firm Birchall & Associates in Oakville Megan McGinnis says the company ended up with the Taylor Swift tickets and decided to donate them through Ronald McDonald House.
“We came together as a group and came to the decision that someone way more deserving than us could use a smile on their face,” McGinnis said.
