Hamilton police seize firearm and drugs

Hamilton police arrested a man and seized a firearm and drugs.

Officers responded to reports of a vehicle collision in the area of York Boulevard and Pearl Street North, Hamilton on Friday, Oct. 22 around 3:40 p.m.

Police say a witness saw the driver of the vehicle flee the scene on foot and helped officers locate him

Officers say they chased him on foot until he was arrested in a nearby convenience store.

Police say they found a loaded firearm and numerous substances that the man discarded during the foot pursuit.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jeffery Kumi of Etobicoke has been charged with 13 offences including: possession of fentanyl and cocaine, careless use of a firearm, and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
