Hamilton police seize fentanyl, drugs in downtown core bust
Hamilton police have made another drug bust in the city’s downtown core.
Officers say they were conducting patrols and surveillance on Jan. 21 in the area of the Salvation Army and Jackson Square – a location they identified through community complaints.
Detectives say they saw 49-year-old William Mahon meeting with suspected customers near the York Blvd. entrance to Jackson Square.
Officers say Mahon was seen allegedly holding a clear bag containing yellow-coloured fentanyl.
A search of the man resulted in the seizure of a quantity of illegal substances, cash, and drug-related items.
Police seized:
- 36 grams of fentanyl (yellow in colour)
- 47 grams of fentanyl (pink in colour, subdivided into three baggies)
- 60 oxycodone pills
- 24 dilaudid pills
- One vial of hash
- Approximately $1,700 in Canadian currency
- Multiple digital scales
- Five cellular phones
