Hamilton Police searching for suspect in attempted robbery at downtown ATM

Hamilton Police are searching for a man in connection to an attempted robbery downtown in November.

Police say the victim, a woman, was using an ATM in the area of Main St. W and Bay St. S around 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 28. There was a man standing behind her waiting for the machine.

She took the money from the machine and held it in her hand.

The man tried to grab the cash but the woman resisted. Police say she was knocked to the ground and began to scream, which prompted the man to run away.

Officers were not able to find him. Police say the victim was not physically injured.

Police have release a photo of the man, believed to be in his 50s, between 5’9″ and 5’11”.
