Hamilton police search for rightful owners of stolen property

Hamilton police are hoping to reconnect a large amount of stolen property with its rightful owners.

Police say the goods were discovered Wednesday afternoon during a raid on a downtown home that was allegedly being used as a storage locker for stolen property.

Officers seized the following items while executing a search warrant:

• 27 laptops
• 13 computer tablets
• 6 bicycles
• 3 E-bikes
• 3 cell phones

Hamilton police say multiple charges have been laid in connection with the stolen property. Investigators say they were tipped off to the home by neighbours in the area. Residents are being reminded, ‘if you see something, say something.’

“Information is collected and resources are deployed accordingly to better serve the community,” said Hamilton police in a news release. “It is important to recognize that criminals find it difficult to operate in neighbourhoods where citizens take an active role in preventing crime.”
