Hamilton police officer charged after firearm pointed at another officer

A Hamilton police officer is facing gun-related charges after he allegedly pointed a firearm at another officer while at work.

Cst. Brandon Terdik has been charged with point firearm and careless use of a firearm.

Police allege Terdik pointed a gun at another officer while he was on duty on Oct. 23.

He has been suspended with pay.

“The matter is now before the courts. Out of respect for the court process, Hamilton Police Service will not be providing further comment,” said police in a news release.

Terdik was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 25.
