Hamilton police have made nine impaired driving arrests over the weekend – six of those arrests happened on Sunday alone.
Officers say each incident came to their attention by calls from members of the public who reported the suspected impaired driver.
Police are reminding the public about the dangers of impaired driving and encourage everyone to call 911 if you suspect an impaired driver.

Detectives say impaired driving can lead to an immediate driver’s license suspension, vehicle impoundment, fines and criminal charges, and higher insurance premiums and long-term consequences.
They say if you drink alcohol or consume cannabis, plan ahead.
Those plans may include arranging for a designated driver, taking public transit, taxi, or rideshare or stay overnight if possible.
Police say the actions all residents who called in to report the suspected impaired drivers removed those nine drivers from the road and prevented potential tragedy on our roads.
