Hamilton police investigating sexual assault near Mohawk Sports Park

Hamilton police are looking for a suspect wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman near the Mohawk Sports Park on Monday.

Police say the incident happened on Feb. 26 around 9 p.m. in the area of Mountain Brow Boulevard and Mohawk Road East.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 30-40 years old, six feet in height, with red/blonde hair, unshaven stubble and broad shoulders.

He was wearing a black jacket with the hood up, blue or black pants, black and white shoes, and black leather gloves.

Investigators are asking area residents to review their security cameras and report any suspicious activity between 8 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.

This follows another recent report of a sexual assault in Hamilton on Sunday.

Authorities say they were called out to the area of Main Street East and Gage Avenue South around 3:10 a.m. to respond to the incident.

The force hasn’t released any additional details surrounding its investigation but has published two surveillance images of the man they believe to be responsible.

Officers describe the suspect as a white man with a medium build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a zip-up hoodie with the hood up, long pants and two-toned running shoes.
