Hamilton police investigating after stolen vehicle involved in collision on Burlington St.

Hamilton police are investigating after a stolen vehicle was involved in a collision on Burlington Street Monday afternoon.

Shortly after 3 p.m., authorities were called to the area of Burlington Street East and Sherman Avenue North for a report of a collision.

Police also received reports that the male driver of an involved vehicle had fled the scene on foot. Upon arriving on scene, officers learned that the vehicle was stolen.

Two 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old boy who were passengers in the stolen vehicle were transported to hospital with non-life threatening, but serious injuries.

The two passengers of the other vehicle involved in the collision were treated on scene.

A stretch of Burlington Street East was closed for a short period of time, but has since reopened.

Investigators determined that a 16-year-old boy was the driver of the stolen vehicle who fled the scene. He has since been located and arrested.
