Hamilton police investigate three separate shootings in the city
Hamilton police say they are investigating three separate shooting incidents that happened about an hour apart in the city late Monday night.
The first shooting happened at around 10:30 p.m. in the area of Mohawk Rd. W. and Magnolia Dr. Police say it happened at an Air B&B and can confirm that one of the occupants negligently discharged a firearm within the residence causing minor damage. The suspect is described as a white man, 5’9″ and average build in his 30’s. Police say no one was injured.
The second shooting happened at around 10:40 p.m. in the area of Main St. E and Holton Ave S. Police say one person was transported to hospital for non life threatening injuries. The shooter fled the area before police arrived. He is described as a black man, 5’10”, short dreadlocks and wearing a blue track suit and white sneakers.
The third shooting happened at around 11:50 p.m. in the area of Douglas Ave and Mars Ave. Police say there were multiple shots fired into a residence. No one sustained any injuries. Police are asking residents in the area to review their security surveillance cameras between the hours of 11:15 p.m. to midnight for any suspicious activity.
