Hamilton police investigate threat made to local high school

A police presence could be seen at Sir Winston Churchill High School Friday morning after a threat of a possible shooting was made towards the school.

Police say they received information that a threat had been made shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators say the threat involved a “possible school shooting.”

Police launched an investigation and determined there was no actual threat.

The school was not placed under lock down while police investigated and classes remained in session.

Police say at no time was the safety of staff and students in question.
