Hamilton police investigate second shooting incident on Friday

Hamilton police are investigating a second shooting on Friday after a 38-year-old man was found with a serious leg injury.

Police and Emergency Services attended the Red Rose Motel located at 553 Queenston Rd., for a man with a life threatening leg injury shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Investigators say the man was taken to hospital and it was determined by medical staff that the patient was suffering from a gun shot wound to the leg.

Officers say the man is now in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate this incident to determine if it is related to the murder that took place in the area of Sanford Ave. North and Acorn St. on Friday.
