Hamilton police investigate overnight shooting

Hamilton police are investigating after shots were fired for the second time in three weeks at a home in the city’s north end.

The most recent shooting happened around 1 a.m. Thursday on MacAulay St. East just steps away from St. Lawrence Catholic Elementary School.

Residents were inside the home at the time of the shooting but no one was injured. Police say a man wearing dark clothing was seen running away from the area.

Officers and members of the K9 Unit searched the area but did not locate the man.

Investigators say this is the second shooting at this house in less than three weeks. The first incident happened on April 17 and no one was injured.
