Hamilton Police investigate man approaching children near school

Residents are warned of a suspicious circumstance involving a man approaching children near WH Ballard Public Elementary School in Hamilton.

A man was reportedly asking children if they wanted a ride to go get ice cream.

Hamilton Police say officers went to the elementary school located at 801 Dunsmore Rd. at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.

The male suspect is described as being approximately 60-years-old with a short, stocky build, grey-white hair, and a beard, wearing a black t-shirt.

The suspect was driving a grey/silver Honda Ridgeline with dark tinted windows.

Detectives are asking residents and businesses in the area to review their security cameras between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., for any suspicious activity and contact police.

Motorists driving in the area at that time with dash cam footage are also asked to contact investigators.
