Hamilton Police investigate city’s 7th homicide

Hamilton Police are looking witnesses and video as they investigate the city’s 7th homicide.

Police were called to an address on Clifton Downs Rd. around 9 p.m. Thursday.

“A neighbor exited his house and observed our victim lying in front of the residence. Naturally it caused him concern,” Det.-Sgt. Steve Berezuik, Hamilton police.

When officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have identified the victim as Marko (Mark) Bakir.

The 31-year-old was known to police but there were no recent incidents.

“As far as I’m concerned, he was off our watch,” Berezuik said.

Officers began canvassing the area and were able to speak with several people who knew the victim and some witnesses.
