Hamilton police investigate city’s 19th homicide after Mountain shooting

Update: Police have identified the victim as 24-year-old Sheydon Storer. 

Police are investigating the city’s 19th homicide of the year after a 24-year-old man was shot in the driveway of his Hamilton mountain home. 

Officers say they responded to a home on Darcy Court, near Upper Wentworth and Mohawk Rd. around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night to reports of shots fired. 

Police found a man lying in his driveway suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. 

Investigators say they are continuing to search for suspects or vehicle descriptions. Police say there will be heavy police presence in the area as the forensics team processes the scene and police canvass the neighbourhood for witnesses and video.
