Hamilton police charge man, 33, in early Monday morning shooting

A 33-year-old man is facing multiple firearm charges after a shooting downtown Monday morning.

Hamilton police said it happened shortly before 2 a.m. in the area of Roxborough Ave. and Grosvenor Ave. North.

Officers secured the area as soon as they arrived and searched for anyone involved, but no suspects were found.

No injuries have been reported to police at this time.

Investigators have charged Stephen Allen MacDonald of Hamilton with 11 different offences, including reckless discharge of a firearm.

MacDonald is in custody and police are not looking for any more suspects.

During the arrest, officers seized a loaded firearm with an extended magazine, ammunition and illicit drugs, among other things.
