There was a police presence in the Corktown neighbourhood Thursday night after a group of people barricaded themselves inside a restaurant and a woman was assaulted.
Officers responded around 5:30 a.m. for reports of an after-hours party at a restaurant in the area of Jackson Street East and Catharine Street South.
Police say a woman reported being assaulted and she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Spokesperson Jackie Penman says a group of individuals barricaded themselves inside the establishment when police arrived.

A portion of the roadway in front of the restaurant was closed for a few hours early Friday morning but it has since reopened.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and ask for witnesses to come forward.
