Hamilton police appeal for witnesses after senior hit by truck
Hamilton police are making a plea for witnesses to come forward after an 82-year-old woman was struck by a truck Tuesday morning.
It happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. in the city’s north end.
Police say the woman was walking northbound on Barton St., just east of Lottridge St., when she was hit by a commercial truck.
The truck was in the process of making a left turn onto Barton St. from Lottridge St. when the collision happened.
The woman suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to hospital where she remains in critical condition.
Investigators say speed, alcohol, and drugs are not considered to be factors in the collision.
Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to contact Det. Cst. Vandercraats at 905-546-4755.
