A Hamilton man is wanted and 13 other alleged members of an organized criminal network have been arrested in connection with a series of violent crimes across Canada.

York Regional Police say between April 15, 2024 and March 20, a number of violent incidents were reported in southern and eastern Ontario and in Quebec.

Police say this group of suspects were responsible for a number of incidents including a murder, attempted murders, an attempted kidnapping, armed carjackings, armed robberies, armed home invasions and more.

A total of six search warrants were executed at five locations from April to December.

More than 150 charges have been laid.

At a news conference, police said the incidents linked to the network include a home invasion in Vaughan, Ont., that culminated in the shooting of one of the home’s occupants, a shooting in a crowded London, Ont., emergency room, and the shooting of a man in a Mississauga, Ont., parking lot.

Detectives say people associated with the group were allegedly involved in a homicide in Rimouski, Que.

The force’s chief, Jim MacSween, said the offences “run the gamut of violent crime.”

“These acts were brazen, they were brutal, and they’re completely unacceptable,” MacSween said.

“When it comes to committing violence, these suspects certainly did not discriminate. They showed complete disregard for the value of human life and they left hundreds of victims in their wake.”
