Hamilton man arrested following convenience store armed robbery

Hamilton police have arrested one man in connection with an armed robbery at a convenience store on Fennell Avenue East near Upper Ottawa Street last week.

Officers say at approximately 12:48 a.m. on July 16, one man entered the store with a concealed firearm and demanded cash before fleeing the scene.

No injuries have been reported.

Following an investigation, 21-year-old Lachlan Rabut of Hamilton was taken into custody and charged with robbery with a firearm and failure to comply with a release order.
