Hamilton house fire costs over $40 thousand in damages

Hamilton Fire Fighters were called to 108 Chestnut Ave. in east Hamilton to put out a second floor blaze at around 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

Three people and a pet made it out of the house without injuries.

Officials say that the cause of the fire was careless smoking. However, the person living in the house has different potential causes and points the finger at the structure and maintenance of the house.
