Hamilton Health Sciences admits the ‘code zero’ situation is bad but fixable

Hamilton hospitals are running out of room and emergency departments are backed up.
We’ve been reporting on the offload delays for paramedics that leave the city dangerously short of ambulances. It’s called a “code zero” and there were more than 30 of them last month. It was the highest monthly level in 5 years and there have been 7 code zeros so far this month.
We talked to the chief operating officer at Hamilton Health Sciences who says the situation is bad but it can be fixed.
