Hamilton firetruck catches fire on Highway 403
In a strange turn of events, a firetruck from Hamilton’s fire department burst into flames and needed to be attended to by crews from the town over.
Authorities say a fire broke out in the firetruck’s engine bay while it was returning from a repair shop in Brampton, sources say.
Fire crews from Burlington were called to the scene and quickly extinguished the fire in Hamilton’s own Engine 11 around 2 p.m.
No one was injured, and the damage the firetruck sustained remains unknown.
Several westbound lanes of Highway 403 were temporarily closed while crews attended the scene, but they have since reopened.
