Hamilton declares heat alert

A heat advisory has been issued for the city of Hamilton today.

The combination of high temperatures and humidity can increase the risk of heat-related illnesses. People with chronic illnesses, mobility problems and the elderly are at greatest risk.

Hamilton’s medical officer of health is reminding residents to drink lots of water, look for air-conditioned areas and dress in lightweight clothing to stay comfortable.
