Hamilton city council has voted unanimously in favour of a city staff recommendation that puts Global Spectrum and Live Nation in charge of Hamilton Place and Copps Coliseum and the Carmen’s group in charge of the Hamilton Convention Centre.
With this afternoon’s vote, the hope is that bringing in these international entertainment companies will help fill seats at future shows. City staff say the three companies would save the city $1.6 million next year, and over $2 million by 2017 – a savings that will add up to more than $6.8 million over a five year period.
