Hamilton cheaply chipping cats

The city of Hamilton is providing affordable microchips for up to 500 cats this Saturday.

Thousands of cats come into the animal shelter each year, but only 3% are claimed by their owners.

With a registration tag or microchip, the owners of lost cats can be contacted as soon as the cat arrives. For $12.50, owners will get a lifetime city of Hamilton cat registration, a microchip id and a free package.

Both the Hamilton-Burlington SPCA and Hamilton Animal ServicesHamilton Animal Services will provide the service between 1 and 3:30 on Saturday at two Hamilton rec centres.

For locations and times, check out the special events page on hamilton.ca/animalservices.
