Hamilton broadcaster dies at 76

A familiar voice on the Hamilton radio airwaves for many years has died following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Phil Hitchcock was 76. Hitchcock began his broadcast career in Kirkland Lake and joined CHML in Hamilton in the early 1960’s and stayed there until his retirement in 1999.
Hitchcock is survived by his wife Jeannie and four children, including former Hamilton Tiger-Cat Rob Hitchcock. A funeral service will be held Saturday in Stoney Creek.
