A Hamilton-born actress, featured on the TV program Castle, has been named the People’s Choice for best dramatic television actress.

Stana Katic plays Detective Kate Beckett, who works with mystery novelist Richard Castle (Edmonton-born Nathan Filion) to solve crimes. The pair are also noted for their sexual tension.

Castle was also selected as best TV crime drama.
