Hamilton artists relocate to new creative space after eviction

About a dozen artists in Hamilton now have a new workspace to call home after being evicted from their old studio.

25 artists were evicted from 29 Harriet Street in August 2024. It was an affordable space for people to work out of, with most paying around 500 dollars per month. They were worried that finding a space at that price would be impossible. Tyler Cowie with Westinghouse HQ heard their story and offered them a new home.

The artists work in individual studios on the 7th floor of this old Westinghouse building on Sanford Ave North. The building has been redeveloped and is now home to many artists and local businesses. A creative space to work individually in a community setting.
