Hamilton administers 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine as of Saturday

Hamilton says it reached a milestone by administering 1-million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in Hamilton on Dec. 24.

Dec. 24 marks the one-year anniversary of COVID-19 vaccines being administered in Hamilton. 

The city says the vaccine milestone was possible due to the collective efforts of Hamilton Public Health Services, Hamilton Health Sciences, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, Hamilton Paramedic Services, primary care patterns, local pharmacies and more. 

“Hamilton healthcare partner and organizations from across the community have worked around the clock to plan a significant expansion of local COVID-19 vaccine capacity to ensure as many Hamiltonians as possible, as quickly as possible, are able to received the strong protection getting fully vaccinated and receiving a third dose of the vaccine provides against COVID-19 and the high-transmissible Omicron variant,” said the city in a statement.
