Halton Region issues cold weather warning for Jan. 20

A cold warning has been issued for Halton Region as the wind chill is expected to reach -30 C today.

Halton Region Public Health has issued the extreme cold warning and said residents can stay warm at all designated Burlington Public Library branches during library open hours.

Cold warnings are issued by Halton Region Public Health during any of the following weather conditions:

  • Daily predicted low of -15 C without wind chill; or
  • Environment and Climate Change Canada issues an extreme cold warning for outdoor activity (temperature or wind chill is expected to reach -30 C for at least two hours)
