Halton police look for male suspect after a shovel attack in Burlington

Halton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they say is responsible for an attack on a dirt bike rider in Burlington over a month ago.

Investigators say a young man was attacked while riding his dirt bike on a rural property in the area of Cedar Springs Road and Grand Boulevard on June 22 at around 5:00 p.m.

Police say the man noticed an unknown male standing on the side of the trail.

The man is described as white with a brown mustache and was wearing dark clothing and a baseball hat.

The victim slowed to pass when he was struck in the arm by a shovel and tackled by the man, according to officers.

A verbal argument then came from the interaction ending when the suspect fled on a blue dirt bike.

The young male victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

This area is known to be frequented by dirt bike riders and police are requesting anyone who may be able to identify the suspect to contact Const. Chase Gourley of 3 District Burlington at Chase.gourley@haltonpolice.ca.
