Halton police investigate shooting in Oakville

Halton police are investigating a shooting in Oakville.

On April 26 at around 10:20 p.m., police say officers responded to the area of Dundas West and Hampshire Gate for reports of a single gunshot.

Police say they located one man near the McDonalds restaurant in the area with a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Police say the man’s injuries indicate the weapon may have been a pellet gun.

Halton police are investigating to determine the motive of the shooting. Police say it does not appear to be a random encounter.

The suspect is a man who was wearing all black clothing and a motorcycle helmet. He was last seen driving westbound on Dundas Street at a high rate of speed on a motorcycle.
