Halton police investigate Friday’s smash-and-grab at Mapleview mall

Halton police are looking for five people believed to be responsible for a smash-and-grab robbery at Mapleview Shopping Centre on Friday.

Investigators say just before 8 p.m., four men entered Charm Diamond Centres and allegedly used hammers to break into and access several display cases, from which several jewelry items were stolen.

Officers say the four men returned to a black Honda CRV, which may have been driven by a fifth suspect.

Police describe the suspects as between five-foot-five to five-foot-eight with small builds and all wearing dark clothing and face coverings.

Authorities say no one was injured in the incident.
