Halton police have arrested two people and laid over 30 charges in connection with an auto theft investigation.

Last November, officers began looking into two suspects believed to be trafficking stolen vehicles out of a warehouse in Burlington.

Investigators say the vehicles were stolen throughout the Greater Toronto Area and loaded onto shipping containers bound for Dubai.

“To date, 35 vehicles intended for overseas have been intercepted and seized,” Halton police said in a news release.

The pair are facing 14 counts of trafficking in stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of automobile master key.

Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
