Gun and drugs seized after fail-to-remain crash in Hamilton

Hamilton police have arrested two young men following a car crash that lead to the discovery of a weapon, drugs and cash. 

On Thanksgiving Monday, officers were called to the area of Province Street South following reports of a fail-to-remain crash. 

According to police, witnesses saw a black Nissan hitting a parked car, causing extensive damage.

The two male suspects were reported to have removed backpacks from the trunk then fled the scene on foot.

Officers found the suspects nearby and discovered a loaded Glock handgun, ammunition, 1.082 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine valued at about $23,000, about 642 grams of cocaine $63,000, an assortment of hydromorphone pills and cash. 

A 17-year-old boy from Grimsby and a 20-year-old man from Toronto face multiple charges related to weapons and drug offences.
